Jonathan Adelson is the Founder & CEO of Adelson Strategies, and personally takes the lead role on all clients and works directly with the Senior Management of his clients, taking the company to the next level by assisting on strategic and tactical issues, as well as identifying opportunities for growth.
Jonathan founded Adelson Strategies to create a platform to put the totality of his 20+ years of professional experiences and his strong global network to work for his clients.
Jonathan started his career as a lobbyist in Washington, DC, during the presidencies of George H.W Bush and Bill Clinton. He represented corporate, non-profit and coalition clients before members of congress and their staffs, helping to execute strategic grass-roots campaigns to heighten their visibility on Capitol Hill and gain congressional awareness and support for their agendas.
After three years on the Hill, Jonathan returned to law school where he earned his JD and went on to obtain an LL.M. in Taxation. Jonathan continued to hone his advocacy skills in the Washington National Tax and New York offices of a big four accounting firm, where for 6 years he represented the firm’s multinational clients in all forms of dispute resolution with the U.S. Treasury and Internal Revenue Service.
Most recently, Jonathan completed 10 years with the global turnaround and advisory firm of Alvarez & Marsal. As a Managing Director, Jonathan has assisted global corporations and their boards and senior management, start-ups, and other businesses assess and mitigate risk, enter new markets and solve complex problems. Jonathan has served as a US point of contact for Taxand, a global organization of tax firms founded by A&M doing business in over 50 countries.
Jonathan is also a Co-Founder of Trio Media Ventures (“Trio”) www.triomv.com a film and production studio based in Venice, CA. Trio serves clients and partners around the world providing the highest quality solutions for development, production and distribution of animated, live action & commercials, virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) content in the education, entertainment, philanthropy and other sectors. Trio also provides advisory services to our clients entering into and navigating the US media market, identifying co-production, acquisition and other opportunities, and developing practical ways to incorporate VR, MR and other technologies into their businesses.
Jonathan earned a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, where he has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He earned a J.D. from New England School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from the Boston University School of Law. He also assists many charitable organizations including The Central Park Conservancy, The Creative Coalition, Blue Star Families and others. Jonathan serves on the Board of Trustees of the Progressive Policy Institute, a catalyst for policy innovation and political reform based in Washington, D.C. He also serves as an Investment Committee Member, for the The Next Gen Venture Capital Fund, and an Advisory Board Member to Enoch Capital a Shanghai based private equity fund.
Jonathan was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Boston, and has called New York City home for the past 20 years with his wife Mary Beth, a top broker with Douglas Elliman in NY and their eight year old son.
